Donation Is Allowing Children's Advocacy Center To Grow

A private donation is giving an eastern Kentucky Children's Advocacy Center room to grow.

Doctors R.V. and Jyothi Mettu gave a $10,000 check to officials at the Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center, commonly known as Judi's Place.

The largest private donation ever for the center came at a much needed time.

The center served about one hundred more children this year than last.

The executive director, Laura Kretzer, says they've run out of space, “Right now we have one room that is shared for multiple services so we can only provide one type of a service at a time.”

The money will be used to move the center into a larger house.

Officials are still looking at possible locations.
