Honor Veterans

In this year's election you can cast your ballot and honor a veteran at the same time.

Secretary Of State Trey Grayson unveiled the new program at the Floyd County Clerk's office Wednesday morning. From now until the election, voters can request a button honoring their favorite veteran and then wear it to the polls on election day.

"We've had millions of soldiers fight to defend our right to vote along with a lot of our other rights and freedoms and we have thousands of soldiers overseas right now and we thought it was a great way to promote voting," says Grayson. "We always do what we can to increase turnout."

Voters can request the buttons at any county clerk's office or the secretary of state's website. People can also submit stories and tributes about their veterans that will be posted online.
