Miner Files Discrimination Complaint With MSHA

A Letcher County coal miner has filed a discrimination complaint with MSHA against his employer after, according to the Lexington Herald Leader, he was written up for giving federal officials a video.

The video showed problems at the mine where he works.

The paper reports Charles Scott Howard, who works at the Cumberland River Coal Company's Band Mill Number 2 Mine, shot the video of faulty mine seals and gave it to MSHA officials during a public hearing on the new mine seal regulations.
