A long-time Floyd County magistrate will be buried on Easter Sunday.

Jackie Owens of Hueysville died Thursday at UK Medical Center.

Officials say Owens was teaching a mine safety class earlier this week when he collapsed.

He was a magistrate for 20 years and a surface mine foreman for Kentucky Fuel.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at two at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel in Martin.

Jackie Owens was 56 years old.
