Trial Begins Today For Perry County Man Charged With Second Degree Escape

The trial for an eastern Kentucky man charged with second degree escape is set to start Monday in Perry county. Police say Rodney Stamper tried to escape from police custody at least three times. He was on trial back in march, but the judge declared a mistrial when the jury deliberated for several hours with out reaching a decision in the case. Stamper was charged with escape in December after he left the hazard ARH while in custody. He was on the run for several days before being caught. Police say he has a history of self mutilation.
