Students will no longer have to worry about misplacing their lunch card or having it stolen.
A new finger scanning system in the Whitley County schools is changing the way students make it through the lunch line.
The iDENTIfi finger scanning system allows a student to be recognized by placing their finger the small device.
Some parents have been concerned that the finger scan detects the entire finger print, which is not true.
The only information that is in the iDENTIfi system is the student's name and school ID number.
If for any reason parents want to remove their child from the finger scanning system, all they need to do is contact Whitley County Schools or send a note to class with their child.
All schools in Whitley County have installed the new system, but not all students have been scanned into the system.
School officials say it will take a bit more time to register all of the students.
