BSCTC students build greenhouse at drug treatment facility

Posted: Mon 6:04 AM, Apr 19, 2010

Students from the human services and carpentry programs at Big Sandy Community and Technical College recently constructed a greenhouse for Hope in the Mountains, a drug treatment facility for women in Floyd County.

Officials say the project was part of the school's service learning initiative.

The program promotes public service engagement through activities that benefit the community.

Hope in the Mountains, which opened in 2008, provides an extensive, 90-day treatment for women struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.
