A Martin County man is in jail, charged with attempted murder after a weekend shooting.

Sheriff's deputies say 26 year old Troy Mollette Junior opened fire at a home on Rockhouse Road in the Tomahawk community.

Investigators say Dustin Stacey was shot, but survived.

Johnny Ray Jordan admits he does not get along with his neighbors, but he says Saturday night it went too far.

He says he, his son, and son's friend were at the house when Troy Mollette Junior allegedly came over, exchanged heated words, then came back a little bit later.

“I heard him say, try to go somewhere now, I cut your tires. I looked and my tires were cut,” Johnny Ray Jordan said.

He claims Mollette then threatened them while they were outside.

“He was hollering he was going to kill us and he had a gun, about that time, I heard the first shot...boom...the boys ran back to the house, and then I heard boom...the second shot,” Jordan said.

He says his son's friend, Dustin Stacey was hit.

Sheriff Deputies say they later found Mollette driving, and then arrested him at his home.

“He resisted, but they got a hold of him and then found the shotgun in the back of the car,” Martin County Sheriff Garmon Preece said.

Deputies charged him with attempted murder, DUI, and drug possession, among other things.
Mollette's family did not want to talk to us, but the Sheriff says Mollette did talk to him about a motive.

Stacey was flown to Cabell-Huntington Hospital and is expected to be ok.

Mollette is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.

Officials say Stacey was released from Cabell-Huntington hospital.
