Doctors Plan New Tests For Billy Graham After Third Bleed

ASHEVILLE, North Carolina (AP) - The Reverend Billy Graham has experienced a third intestinal bleed, although doctors say this morning's episode was minor and stopped on its own.

The 88-year-old evangelist remains in fair condition at a hospital in North Carolina.

Merrell Gregory, spokeswoman for Mission Health & Hospitals in Asheville, said doctors planned to conduct more definitive tests this afternoon to determine the cause and source of the bleeds.

Doctors suspect the problem may be caused by small pouches that can form in the lower intestine.

Graham has been hospitalized since an initial bleed on Saturday.

Gregory says he remains fully alert and in good spirits, and thanks people for their prayers.
