Police tell Mountain News two people were shot early Thursday morning at a home on the Right Fork of Montgomery Creek.
We're told one of the victims, 35 year old Shawn Mobelini of Vicco, was shot three times in the head and once in the hand. She was flown to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Officers also tell us the Mobelini was coherent when they found her and was able to tell them the name of one of the alleged shooters.
The other victim, 49 year old Albert "Glen" Jent of Vicco, who we're told is in his 50's, was also shot in the head. He was flown to Hazard ARH Hospital and later flown to Holston Valley in Tennessee.
School officials also tell us, three elementary schools near the scene, R.W. Combs, Viper and Leatherwood, are on lockdown as a precaution.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
Preliminary investigation has led police to obtain arrest warrants for Assault 1st Degree 2 counts on Garfield Herald Jr. age 26 of Busy Ky. in connection to the shooting.
Herald is considered to be armed and dangerous.
