Paintsville Police Chief Resigns

Paintsville Police Chief Lowell Ward has resigned after only eight months on the job.

Ward says he came out of retirement and took the job in January to help the department. He now says his job is done and it's time for him to move on.

"It's been a lot of fun while I've been here and met a lot of people and do a lot of things and I really appreciate that," Ward said.

Ward's last day is September 4th, but he says he will stay on the police advisory board. Current Officer Bill Holbrook is expected to take over as chief.
