Election Day for the governor's seat is now less than three months away, and the candidates are reaching out to voters by outlining their plans on major issues. Democrat Steve Beshear says it's his goal to double the number of college students in the bluegrass by the year 2020. He also says he wants to help Kentucky workers by increasing advanced training opportunities.
Republican incumbent Ernie Fletcher says his plan is to reduce the number of uninsured Kentuckians and to make health coverage more affordable. Fletcher's proposals include making more small businesses eligible for health insurance assistance and expanding the children's health insurance program to provide more coverage.
