Perry County Central High School's student lot was unusually full Saturday.

That's because students and teachers were in session to help make up one of the 26 days lost during the school year. Administrators say despite it being Saturday and having beautiful weather, attendance was surprisingly high.

"We don't have the greatest attendance for a regular school day, but for a Saturday we're very pleased with the fact that we're over 65 percent today," PCCHS Principal Estill Neace said.

Neace said activities ranging from basketball tournaments to Guitar Hero contests helped keep attendance up.
