Eastern Ky. Man Charged With Setting Store On Fire Twice

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) - An eastern Kentucky man faces two arson charges after state police said he set a convenience store on fire twice.

Luther Edward Abbott, 19, of Raccoon, Ky., was arrested Saturday and held in the Pike County Detention Center.

Kentucky State Police said Pike County 911 got a call Friday morning about a fire at the Zebulon Double Kwik. The Johns Creek Fire Department put out the fire. Early Saturday morning, a second call came in reporting a fire at the same store and was put out by the Johns Creek Fire Department.

An arson investigator determined that both fires were deliberately set. Troopers said the investigation led to the arrest of Abbott, but declined to give details.
