Gunshots, Police Chase Puts Man In Tennessee Jail

A man is in a Tennessee jail accused of gunning down his parents in southern Kentucky. It happened early Thursday Morning in the Pine Knot community of McCreary County.

A dispatcher there got a call just after one this morning requesting an ambulance. While on the phone, the dispatcher heard gunshots. That call was traced to a home in Pine Knot. Police found Candi Cordell dead and her husband Anthony suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began searching for a suspect. Kentucky State Police tell us the suspect is the couple's son, Justin Cordell. Officers spotted Cordell in Whitley County. Police say he lead them on a chase that ended in Tennessee.

Cordell is in the custody of the Campbell County Sheriff's Department there. He should be extradited back to the state soon. Charges are still pending against Cordell in Kentucky. He is facing charges in Tennessee.
