Harlan County Accident Injures Three

Two people were flown to a Tennessee hospital after an accident Thursday afternoon in Harlan County.

It happened on Pine Mountain at Baxter on U.S. 421.

State police say a tractor trailer crossed the center line and hit a SUV. The driver of the SUV, 19 year old Heather Hensley, and a passenger, 31 year old Benjamin Caldwell, both of Bledsoe, were flown to Holsten Valley Medical Center.

Another two year old passenger was taken to the Harlan ARH to be checked out.

The driver of the tractor trailer, who’s from Tennessee, was not injured.

Police say charges are pending.
