Cops for Kids

It might be summertime, but some Eastern Kentucky police officers are getting ready for the Christmas season.

The Middlesboro Police Department is hosting it's annual Cops for Kids Golf Scramble at the Wasioto Winds golf course in Bell County.

More than one dozen teams hit the course to raise money for kids this Christmas.

About 25 local sponsors are chipping in to make sure police can provide clothing and toys for children in need.

Officers say making a difference in a child's life during the holiday season is priceless.

"You see the look on some of these kids faces ...knowing if it was not for this, they wouldn't have this type of Christmas. It's worth everything you put into it," said Josh Pratt with Middlesboro Police.

The police department will host another fundraiser in the fall.
