A team of students at Johnson County Middle School won big at the Future Problem Solving International Competition.
What started out as a way for a group of students to help the community ended up winning them the International Grand Championship.
The group of students put together more than 100 suitcases filled with stuffed animals and blankets to be given to foster children.
"We want people to realize that it's easy to give to charity, and it's really the best thing that you could probably do in an area like this where there's so many foster kids," said Sarah Rice, a Future Problem Solving team member.
A group from Central Elementary also picked up a national award at the competition.
