Regional leaders come together to discuss ways to bring more tech jobs to the area.

The Silicon Hollow Association launched the first conference in Somerset.

Leaders say they want to market the region as a place for high tech computer related jobs.

Within a click of a mouse ...regional leaders want to make it easier for folks to get high tech jobs in Appalachia.

Several Eastern Kentucky technical services and computer firms came together at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset, to figure out ways to market the region.

Leaders say a big challenge is keeping local folks here.

"We have a long history of people leaving the area and making a significant contribution to the economy in other areas... we want to see that talent come back home," said Jonathan Picklesimer.

Officials say retaining college graduates to the area will not only boost the economy, it also creates options for job seekers.
