Bell County leaders are calling it a jump start to help the economy.

Lee Motors got the General Motors certification.

The dealership in Pineville has had a tough road since the big three filed for bankruptcy.

Officials say things are finally starting to steer in the right direction.

Officials hope to start selling used cars as soon as this week.

The new cars should be on the lot later this summer.

Workers say they are excited to get business moving again.

Putting folks back to work to fuel the economy.

Lee Motors now has new agreements to bring back major car companies including GM and Chrysler-Dodge.

"It's awesome... words can't describe how we feel to get this back... it's unreal," said Jason Brown with Lee Motors.

Lee Motors had to lay off nearly two dozen people, most of its staff ... now the company is starting to hire those folks back.

"In a recession... when jobs are at a premium especially in Eastern Kentucky ... to create and keep jobs is paramount," said Bell County Judge Executive, Albey Brock.

Bell County leaders say this will bring a much needed boost to the regional economy.

Having major car companies do business here, keeps the money local.

"It's a wonderful turn around for Bell County. Things look really good in Bell County. We are excited about that," said Rob Lincks with Bell County Chamber of Commerce.

Workers hope to be up to full speed by late August.
Lee Motors is already helping folks with GM vehicles to get warranty work done.
