Some Eastern Kentucky school children will soon have a new place to hang around.
The Hazard Montessori School will soon receive a brand new playground thanks to a donation from several local agencies. Today the Hazard Lions Club presented the school with $20,000 that will go towards an addition to the existing structure.
"It's great for the community," says Lions Chairman Grady Varney. "It's great for our kids, and it gives them a great start in the education process."
The mayor and judge's office, along with two banks contributed $5,000 each for the project.
150 preschool-aged kids and toddlers attend the Montessori school.
