Rutgers Player Withdraws Imus Lawsuit

NEW YORK (AP) - A Rutgers University basketball player has
dropped her lawsuit against radio host Don Imus and CBS Radio,
among others.

Kia Vaughn sued for slander and defamation last month, months
after Imus was fired for making a racially insensitive remark about
the women's team at Rutgers.

Vaughn contended that the comments made by Imus had damaged her
reputation. The lawsuit also named various media outlets that
broadcast his show.

Now, a spokeswoman for her attorney says Vaughn has chosen to
focus on basketball and her education. Vaughn is studying
journalism at Rutgers.

Imus' lawyer says only that his client paid no money to Vaughn.
