WYMT Severe Weather Alert

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for all of Southeastern Kentucky until 10pm tonight. The primary threats from this system will be strong winds and large hail. Isolated tornadic activity certainly can't be ruled out of the equation.

New driving laws will go into effect soon

New driving laws will be in effect soon and police want you to be aware of them.

Law enforcement has already stepped up patrols to watch out for distracted drivers as part of operation KSP.

But in just a few weeks, it will be illegal for all drivers to text while out on the road.

Police say it will be difficult to enforce, but they are watching.

It will also be illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to talk on the phone while driving.
