A former long-time jailer in Clay County is dead.
Family members say Charles Marcum died Thursday after a battle with cancer.
He was the county jailer for 20 years and was a magistrate for a short time before that.
Arrangements are expected to be made at Britton Funeral Home.
Charles Marcum was 75.
