Constitution Week Kicked Off

"Constitution day" is just a few days away, and Secretary of State Trey Grayson kicked off "constitution week" in Kentucky in Prestonsburg Thrusday afternoon.

The Constitution was signed September 17th, 1787. Grayson started the anniversary week with students at the Big Sandy Technical and Community College. They read the Preamble to the Constitution, and Grayson discussed with students how more than 200 years later, the document is still important.

"I think if students will start to think about it and maybe engage in the debate a little bit, talk to their elected officials about what we should and shouldn't be doing in the name of freedom," says Grayson.

Other events to mark the Constitution's signing anniversary are planned all over Kentucky on Monday.
