Many Eastern Kentucky miners have years of experience, but this week some went back to job training to learn the latest technology.
At least 100 workers at the Pike County McCoy Elkhorn Coal mine learned the latest and practiced their electrical and mining skills in the Success X-press mobile training facility. Company officials brought the simulator to their mine to not only teach their employees, but also make sure everyone knows the safest way to handle all situations.
"They have learned a little bit more on trouble shooting," says the company's Safety Coordinator Gary Lockhart. "You get back into production a lot quicker with the more training you have, the better off you are."
Success X-press officials took the training simulator to the mine site so employees wouldn't have to miss work.
