There's a new truck patrolling eastern kentucky highways to help if you're in trouble.
Transportation Cabinet Safety Officials unveiled the new "safe" trucks Thursday morning in Paintsville. The trucks will travel US 23 and Highway 80 and help any drivers broken down or stranded. They're equipped to change tires, oil, antifreeze, or fix any other minor car problems.
"A lot of people don't have time to stop anymore or they're afraid to stop," says Department of Transportation Safety Director Mark Stapleton. "This will give them a safe person that will stop and help them."
Also this morning, transportation officials handed out funding for anti-DUI projects to the Johnson and Pike County sheriff's departments along with the Paintsville Police and Pike County Health Department.
