Posted: Mon 5:55 PM, Jul 05, 2010

A Tompkinsville man is in serious condition at UK Hospital after his vehicle hit a utility pole.

Police say 51-year-old Clifford Stephens was driving on Kentucky 192 in Pulaski County on Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole.

The vehicle then went over an embankment and flipped several times.

Stephens was eventually flown to UK Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

Portions of Kentucky 192 remained closed for up to ten hours while utility crews worked to restore power and clean up diesel fuel.
