Charges dismissed in Pulaski County bribery case

Charges against five people accused of trying to bribe a Pulaski County official are dismissed.

The Commonwealth Journal reports Everett Hyden, Noble Hampton, Virginia Hampton, Walter Creekmore and Darmus Dalton were all accused of offering Commonwealth's Attorney Eddy Montgomery 20 thousand dollars in exchange for releasing Brandon Compton, who was in jail on drug charges.

However, the case isn't over yet.

The attorney general's office says the case could be reinstated in another court and that it remains an open investigation.
