State police say accidents on Friday nights are up.

That's why you might notice more officers on the road after Friday night football games.

They call it "Friday Night, Blue Lights".

They hope they can get people to watch their speed, drive sober and buckle up.

It's not just a message police are directing towards the students . . it's also very much for parents . . other football fans . . and anyone out on the roads.

Police hope people will remember . . That they're lights will be on . . long after the field lights go out.

The Harlan and Hazard State Police posts united for Friday night's campaign, which was held tonight at the Harlan vs. Hazard football game.
