Delta Dental is in Eastern Kentucky promoting their "Teeth on the Go" program.
The program is aimed at educating children and parents on the importance of positive oral healthcare.
"If you're taking good care of your teeth that means you're taking good care of your body overall." Says Diana Tidal, a nursing student with the program.
The thirty minute class educates kids on what they should be eating as well as how many times a day they should be brushing and flossing.
Kids also receive a dental kit- complete with a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and a copy of Dr. Seuss' "the Tooth Brush."
"If you start them really young and teach kids how to take care of their teeth when their in school even before their in kindergarten they'll carry those habits into adulthood." Says Tidal.
This is part of Delta Dental's commitment to improving the oral health of all Kentuckians.
They say by educating families as a whole they hope to see a positive change in the statistics of Kentucky oral health care.
Kentucky is rated among the worst states in the U.S. for tooth decay and tooth loss.
The program will be in Leslie and Breathitt Counties on Friday.
