Three burglaries in just a few weeks.
Police need your help to solve a string of crimes at the state Department of Transportation garage in Pikeville.
Officials believe the recent burglaries are connected.
They even caught one person on surveillance video twice.
Last month, thousands of dollars worth of equipment was stolen from the garage.
Officials believe they know how they got in.
"Apparently they come along the riverbank. They come in behind pikeville high school and they park back there where no one can see them and then they come down the riverbank and either hop the fence or find a hole underneath the fence and come through" Says Kevin Damron from the Kentucky Department of Highways.
Officials tried blocking off those areas, but so far, they've been unsuccessful.
During the last two burglaries, the same man was caught on surveillance video."
"They have provided us with a surveillance video. We know that it is a white male subjecT. Right now we don't have a name or anything like that. We're asking for the public to help us on that to help us identify who this man is." Says Scotty Hamilton with the Pikeville Police Department.
Officials say it is important to stop these thefts.
"Whether they're breaking in and taking just a handful of things or they're breaking into facilities and taking 5,6,7 thousand dollars worth of equipment, this is equipment that is being paid for by our tax payers. so when we lose, our tax payers lose." Says Damron.
The department of transportation is working to install more surveillance cameras and a security system to make the garage area more secure.
