Former UofL Basketball Player Brown Reaches Plea Deal

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A former Louisville basketball player has
found himself in legal trouble.

Erik Brown pleaded guilty but mentally ill to one count of
criminal mischief stemming from an incident at his home in August
of last year.

Police say he threatened people and slashed car tires at a local
apartment complex. When police arrived, Brown barricaded himself in
his apartment then started a fire on his porch and in his living
room.

A state psychiatrist says Brown suffers from mental illness that
causes hallucinations, paranoia and severe depressions.
