More than 200 motorcycles made their way from Pikeville to Lexington as a fundraiser for Shriner's Hospital.
The annual event, which honored former Pikeville radio DJ Randy Jones who died this year, was held Sunday at the Harley-Davidson in Pikeville. All of the money raised from bike registration, raffles, and t-shirt sales went to Shriner's Hospital.
One of the co-founders of the event says the ride benefits the community in a big way.
"This event raises awareness about what we're working for and that's our kids. In the surrounding counties, we have 1,100 active patients in the Shriner's Hospital so they need toys. The hospital needs money and this is what we're about, Hillbilly Christmas in July. We deliver toys and we try to raise as much money we can," Co-Founder Jimmy Kinney said.
Last year, the ride raised about $65,000. Officials are hoping to top that this year.
