MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) - A planetarium that opened at Morehead State
University a year ago has drawn twice as many visitors as expected.

The Star Theater in the Morehead State University Space Science
Center had about 13,000 visitors. The center's director, Ben
Malphrus, says officials expected around 6,000.

Malphrus told The Independent of Ashland that students came to
the theater from 19 counties in Kentucky and three in Ohio. Part of
the theater's mission is educational and public outreach.

The center's theater allows visitors to sit in reclining seats
and look at the domed ceiling, where a computer projection system
can simulate travel through space and show planets and galaxies in
three dimensions.
