Fire damages WestCare drug rehab facility

A fire damages the WestCare drug rehab center in Pike County.

The Elkhorn City fire chief says a transformer blew Sunday morning, causing the roof to catch on fire.

Firefighters from three departments were able to put out the fire before it spread into the building.

No one was injured.

WestCare officials say the roof and generator are damaged and one side of the building has some smoke damage.

The patients and staff were evacuated during the fire, but WestCare officials say they have now returned to the building.
