East Kentucky Broadcast hosts a radio-a-thon to raise money for the flood victims in Pike County.
"Flood Aid Pike County" began at 1:00 pm Sunday, and people were fielding calls and accepting donations for flood victims in need. Four trucks were filled with goods and $65,000 were collected by the second hour.
"The response has been fantastic. We've been on the air for a little over two hours, and have already raised around $65,000. Calls keep coming in, you can see the phones are very busy right now. The out-pouring from the people of this area and this region has been fantastic," Walter May, President of Pikeville Medical Center, said.
May says donations and pledges will be accepted for victims beyond the hours of the radio-a-thon.
