An Eastern Kentucky man is recovering at the University of Kentucky Medical Center after a shooting overnight.
It all happened at an old strip job in the Dwarf community of Perry County. That's where police say 22 year old Brandon Woolum shot Lon Hendrickson the third twice after an argument. Police are still searching Woolum.
Beer cans and a smoldering fire are the only remnants left after Friday night's party. Police say guns shots were fired around 3am after an altercation between Brandon Woolum of Bonnyman and Lon Hendrickson III.
"It's unfortunate, but it happens. All we can do it keep praying. It has been a trouble spot for years I understand," said Randy Combs.
Police say the victim, Hendrickson, was shot twice and airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Residents say the strip has not been running for some time and that wild parties are common occurrence at that site.
"They were telling me that when I came here as pastor, they said there had been some trouble up there before. There actually had been a shooting once before," Combs said.
Woolum is wanted for criminal attempt to commit murder.
"Let's just pray for the ones involved in this stuff. Hopefully the ones that done this crime will be brought to justice," Combs said.
Anyone with information about Brandon Woolum or his whereabouts is asked to call Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard at 606-435-6069.
UK officials tell us Hendrickson is in good condition.
Police would like to remind everyone that Brandon Woolum is considered armed and dangerous.
