Ten month old Braxton Miller died in June from what a coroner ruled was a methadone overdose. Now his parents, 24 year old Karen Miller and 33 year old Robert Miller, are behind bars and charged with murdering their son.
Neighbors in the Jackson community remember the smiles from little Braxton Miller.
"It shocked me when the little boy, I found out he was dead the next morning," said Samuel Watkins.
Stephanie Miller lives next door to Karen and Robert Miller.
"I'd see them out they'd give me a smile or two," she said.
Stephanie says she has seen a great drug problem throughout the community.
"I hate to see kids growing up in any kind of community with lots of drugs in a lot of homes," she said.
There is still no word on where the methadone came from or how it ended up in Braxton's body, but neighbors are have strong feelings about the idea of small children being near drugs.
Both Karen and Robert Miller are being held in the Three Forks Regional Jail in Beattyville, each on a $175,000 dollar full cash bond.
The Miller family declined comment.
