LONDON, Ky (WYMT) - The American Junior Golf Association is making a tour stop right here in eastern Kentucky.
This August , 144 of the nations top teenage golfers from all over the United States and beyond will be competing at the Crooked Creek Golf Course in Laurel County for the PNC Bank Junior Championship.
Local officials say they are excited about the event and the economic impact it will bring.
"We are expected to have at least 500 families visiting for a minimum of a week, some will be here for two weeks to have their practice round," said Rodney Hendrickson who is the executive director of the London/Laurel County Tourism Commission.
Officials hope the event goes well and becomes a permanent stop on the tour.
