HARROGATE, Tenn. (WYMT) - In honor of Abraham Lincoln's birthday, the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum in nearby Harrogate, Tennessee offered free admission on Wednesday.
The library and museum is considered one of the top five collections of Lincoln artifacts.
It is on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University and has a quarter of a million pieces.
The items either once belonged to the Lincolns or were part of his presidency.
"The collection we have here in a small town, Harrogate, Tennessee, is a vital resource for research and interpretation of the 19th century," said Steven Wilson, Curator.
The curator also brought out locks of Lincoln's hair and Mary Todd Lincoln's handkerchiefs out of the vault on Wednesday.
