LONDON, Ky. (WYMT)- Five people are still recovering tonight after a serious crash on Wednesday night in Laurel County.
Officials say one car was on Kentucky 80 and crossed over the center line hitting another car head on.
They say 35 year old Cora Wilson, 16 year old Sarah McQuire, and a 13 year old girl were in one car. In the other car were 59 year old Stanley Woods and 58 year old Darlene Woods.
Everyone in both vehicles had to be extracted from the cars.
Four people were flown from the scene and the fifth was taken by ambulance to the airport where a plane was waiting.
All were taken to UK hospital in Lexington.
Severe weather caused a crash that injured five people, including three children in Laurel County.
Sheriff's deputies tell us it happened around six o'clock Thursday night on Interstate-75, nine miles north of London.
Deputies say the SUV lost control during heavy rain and struck a concrete median barrier. All five people were taken Saint Joseph Hospital in London to be treated for injuries.
