One woman is dead after a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a car on U.S. 23 in Floyd County.
It happened just before four o'clock Wednesday in front of the Tiger Mart Store.
The wreck shut down the highway for hours.
Prestonsburg Police say the car was in the southbound lanes and went into to the northbound lanes into front of the truck. They believe the cause is weather related.
"At the time, it was raining. We think right now, the passenger car hydroplaned across the median and into the path of the tractor-trailer," said Prestonsburg Police Chief Mike Ormerod.
Police have not released the victim's name yet.
They say the truck driver does not have serious injuries.
