PIPPA PASSES, Ky. (WYMT) - An Eastern Kentucky sports team marked the anniversary of 9/11 by dedicating a practice to the victims of the attack.
Members of the Alice Lloyd College women's basketball team ran a combined 911 laps during practice Wednesday.
Coach John Mills says one of the purposes is to educate younger players on the significance of 9/11.
"This is our way of re-educating them and reminding them this thing still happened," Mills said. "And our way from an athletic standpoint of paying tribute to those that lost their lives."
Coaches also put up a list of victims' names on one of the walls of the gym.
This is the fourth year the team has marked the anniversary this way.
