The last of three people police charged in a cold murder case from eight years ago has turned himself into police.

David Jude surrendered to police last night.

Jude was one of three people charged in the beating death of Patrick Calvin Blackburn back in 2002.

Police say David Jude turned himself in at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

Officials say now with all three suspects in custody, the case can move forward in court.

Police were tracking down David Jude.

Officials say he was out of bond on other charges in West Virginia and expected in court there, but Jude was in Eastern Kentucky and surrendered.

“He actually went to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center and turned himself in. He was aware that he had a warrant for his arrest and turned himself in. All three subjects have been charged and arrested. the indictment warrants have been served. Each are awaiting trial,” Shaun Little said.

Jude, Jerry Stepp, and Jimmy Cornette Jr. are charged with murdering Patrick Calvin Blackburn in June of 2002. Police say Blackburn was beaten and then put into his own car and pushed over hill to make it look like a wreck.

Cornette Jr. is serving state time on unrelated charges in Meade County. Paintsville Police arrested Stepp Monday night.

All three suspects are being held different jails. Cornette in Meade County; Jude in the Big Sandy Detention Center in Johnson County, and Stepp in Floyd County.

Court officials say the suspects are expected to be arraigned in Martin County on October 21st.

Bond for Jude is set at $100,000.

Bond for Stepp is set at 100 plus 50 thousand because officials say he is wanted in another state.
