Police make a big break in a string of robberies that crosses the Clay, Leslie, and Laurel County lines.

Authorities say they have the serial robber behind bars.

For Hazel Alley, watching the surveillance video of her store employee getting robbed is nerve racking.

“I get the phone call and I say please say that again and she repeated that we just got robbed! I jumped into my shoes, grabbed my purse, and I flew down here,” Hazel Alley said.

It’s a scary situation that many business owners in the area have unfortunately experienced.

“The community is terrified with all the reported robberies we've been having,” Claude Davis said.

But police have now arrested Robert Travis Napier, the man they say is in the video and allegedly responsible for the robbery.

“Especially being that he has robbed several places and he appeared to be getting a little bolder each time. First time he was unsuccessful, second time he was, and then who knows what he would have done next,” Detective Charlie Loomis said.

It’s an arrest that brings peace to a neighborhood and store owners.

Hard work by all law enforcement agencies in each county that has made folks feel safe once again.

Napier is charged first degree robbery and is in the Laurel County Detention Center.
