Her goal is to make it to the big apple and write for the Daily Show with Jon Stewart ...
but first the teen from Whitley County plans to go to college right here in Kentucky.
In Mrs. Harrison's classroom at Williamsburg High School ...
Amanda Ramsey learns about the power of words.
The english language can move and inspire ....but sometimes the most powerful words ...can just give you a good laugh.
"In the rough patches of my life... I've always wanted to find humor. If I can't find humor in those situation...it's almost unbearable. So I wanted to do that with my life," said Amanda.
Amanda hopes to move to New York City and write comedy.
"There's nothing else I want to do. I wouldn't be happy with anything else," said Amanda.
Amanda has a 4.3 G.P.A. She is on the academic team, beta club, and student council.
Her teachers say, she is one of the best.
"Amanda is just a fantastic student. She is top notch. She goes above and beyond what I ask the students to do. She always gets everything right. She works hard and she is intelligent too. That's a great combination," said Maria Harrison.
"You can't have anything handed to you in life. You cannot have grades handed to you. You have to work as hard as you can and be determined that you can to make things happen," said Amanda.
And with that mindset you might just see this teen from a small town make it to the bright lights.
Amanda plans to go to Centre College in Danville where she would like to double major in theater and english.
