American Junior Golf Association to make stop in Kentucky

LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - The American Junior Golf Association is making a tour stop right here in eastern Kentucky.

This August, 144 of the nation’s top teenage golfers from all over the United States and beyond will be competing at the Crooked Creek Golf Course in Laurel County for the PNC Bank Junior Championship.

Local officials say they are excited about the event and the economic impact it will bring.

“We are expected to have at least 500 families visiting for a minimum of a week, some will be here for two weeks to have their practice round,” Rodney Hendrickson said.

Officials hope the event goes well and becomes a permanent stop on the tour.
