More than one thousand kids in the Cumberland Valley Region will not go without this Christmas.

The Angel Tree Program has tripled in size within just one year.
Families that are eligible and sign up are provided with Christmas gifts.

Salvation army officials distributed the gifts to needy families.

To you, it might just be a bag... but for Shannon Warren it is a bag from an angel.
"It means everything. Its got to do with the lord...its got to do with helping people," said Warren.

Warren has five children.
Making ends meet in a weak economy is difficult....especially this time of the year.

Thanks to the Angel Tree Program hundreds of families in the tri-state area will have a good Christmas.

Inside each bag, family members get clothes, shoes, and toys. Before each family leaves they also get to take home a christmas dinner.

Organizers say they are happy to help.

"It's an incredible thing...you think about someone not being able to have that happiness Christmas morning... now they have coat and clothes... it's incredible," said Brandy Small with Wal-Mart.

Community leaders spent months preparing for this give away.
Several local businesses pitched in and helped.
