HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - This weekend you can get pictures with your family pet and help an animal shelter at the same time.

On Saturday, Nov. 17, folks can go to the Tractor Supply in Hazard to get pet pictures with Santa to benefit the Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

They are raising money for vaccines for the adoptable animals since they are low on funds.

"We had gone through distemper outbreak and we could not afford it before," said Dr. William Hagans, a veterinarian and animal shelter board member.
"Now we are working our hardest on vaccinating every dog and every cat that we take in at the animal shelter to prevent the others that are down there from catching a disease if brought into the animal shelter."

The photograph packages are $12 and you can pick up tickets at T&T Quick Stop, KRADD or the Appalachian Animal Hospital. You have to schedule an appointment ahead of time.
